The Ninth Cross-Strait Legal Culture Week Video Exchange Activity was Held in NWUPL

On November 25, the Ninth Cross-Strait Legal Culture Week Video Exchange Activity was successfully heldby NWUPL. More than 200 teachers and students from Soochow University, Taipei University,Chung ChengUniversity, Shih HsinUniversity, Aletheia University,Fu Jen Catholic University, as well as China University of Political Science and Law, Southwest University of Political Science and Law, East China University of Political Science and Law,ZhongnanUniversity of Economics and Law and our university gatheredonline. President Fan Jiuli attended the opening ceremony andaddressed the audience. Vice President Wang Jian presided over the awarding session.

FanJiulinotedthat through the joint effortsofcolleagues, the Cross-Straits Legal Culture Week hasserved as abridgeto link the fields oflegal education and practiceand enhance the friendship, and amajorwindow to showcasethe progress of the rule of lawcultureand legal education on both sides.He hoped that communication on this platform can help us strive ahead inlegal researchofthe new era,and make moreprocess in building a civilized society under the rule of law.Wewillparticipate, promote and leadthe integration and development of social, economic and cultural across the Straits, so as to endow the rule of law culture with new connotation in the new era.

Dong Baocheng, vice president of Soochow University, said that the Cross-Strait Legal Culture Week has accumulated legal culture, practice and education into a trickle of legal exchanges, nourishingthe profound friendship between legal colleagues and young students. He hoped that the platformwillfacilitate the dialogue on the rule of law,so thatthe practical cooperation between universitieswillbe promoted, and the exchange, integration and development of legal disciplineswill alsobe deepened.

Wang Jian presided over the awarding session. The winning works covered three competitions: themed essayon the Thinking of Law, themed photographyonthe Significance of Law, and themed micro videoon theJourney ofLaw. Studentswith over200 works interpreted the connotation of the legal spirit, demonstrating the brillianceofthe belief in the rule of law.

Xie Zhesheng,Headof theDepartmentof Law ofChung ChengUniversity, Lin Chongfu, Dean of the School of Finance and Economics and Head of the Department of Law of Aletheia University, Zeng Tao, Deputy Director of the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Education Center of China University of Political Science and Law, Zhang Mingwei, Deputy Dean of the School of Law of Fu Jen Catholic University said that the activitiesmetthe concerns of cross-strait legal education and the needs of buildingthecountry ruled by law, enrichedthe exchange of cross-strait legal education. Theysuggestedyoung students cherish opportunitiestojointly explore the Chinese culture andtradition of rule of law, accumulate solid legal literacy,thereforerealize a wonderful lifeinlegalprofession.

Duringthe video exchangesession,recorded by legal history experts in our university,Li Qirui, Yan Xiaojun, and Chen Xi,a video exhibitionthemed Shaanxi: the Birthplaceof Chinese Legal Culturewas held. The song and dance Together fora SharedFuture performedby11 universities, won a strong response and resonance from teachers and students on both sides.

After the opening ceremony,theforumthemed The Law Ensures the World and Leads Peoples Lifewas held.The forumwas chaired by Ni Nan, Dean of the School of Economic Law. Eight teachers and students made keynote speeches onthe topics ofetiquette and law, the world significance of Chinese traditional legal culture, and the importance of legal construction. As academic exchange activities of the Cross-Strait Legal Culture Week, the Fifth Cross-Strait Academic Seminar on Legal Accounting and Financial Auditing anda number ofacademic lectures by legal expertsfrom both sideswere also held.
